What to bring to your session
It’s finally here! It’s the day of your senior pictures! You have been planning your outfits, thinking about locations and poses, and all the things for weeks! Now, to help your day run smoothly and keep the stress minimal I have created the perfect checklist for the day of your senior photos. I will bring a large rolling tote for you to put your things in.
Please don't skip out on eating the day of your session. My sessions are typically at golden hour, which (unfortunately) is during dinner time. So, please eat a snack before your session so you won't be super hungry and don't forget to drink water and bring some with you!
Be sure to put on some chapstick or lip balm the morning of your session. You don't want chapped lips in your portraits.
Hear me out... I know this seems a little weird, but my camera will pick up even the smallest amount of stubble. Guys, shave your face, unless of course you want the scruffy look. Girls, shave your legs and underarms, especially if you will be wearing tank tops or sleeveless tops.
Have all your outfits ironed and wrinkle free on hangers. Including your graduation gown. Have all jewelry in plastics bags and marked according to which outfit they go with. It works out really well if you can hang a ziplock bag with each set of jewelry on the hanger with the outfit it goes with.
Don't forget your cap, gown and tassel! If you have any sashes or cords, bring those as well. Typically girls were a white dress under their gown. Guys will typically wear a collared, white, button-down shirt and dark wash jeans or khakis.
Don't forget about your shoes. The right shoes complete your look! And girls, those heels are gorgeous...but often get super uncomfortable quick! We will do a lot of walking! Bring some cute flats to switch to or throw in some slides to put on as we walk to each location.
Here’s the deal… things happen. One moment you’re changing for your next outfit, then all of a sudden you hear a big riiiiiiiip at the back of your dress. Sometimes things like this happen and it’s always good to have a backup outfit to be able to replace it with.
Don't forget these little details that make a lot of impact:
